A bit of Disney magic brought us together, but unlike the usual fairy tale beginnings, our story began the typical Molly way! It all began with two individuals working at Disney...
Once upon a time Clayton asked me if I would go on a date with him on Valentine's Day, and my reply?? “No.” I wanted to spend it with my roommates to celebrate Anti-Valentine's Day. A first date on Valentine's Day was way too cliche for me.
We decided to go out on our first date the day after Valentine's Day. You can just assume how nervous I was being that Clayton was my boss. OOOOPPS! It was from that day on that Clayton and I have been completely inseparable.
And then the big question came...
Clayton and I went on vacation in August of 2009 for one week to Indiana to visit his family and then to New Jersey to visit mine. Little did I know that Clayton had this massive plan to propose to me. My parents knew what was going on and wanted it to be perfect so we went to one of our favorite restaurants by the beach, The Parker House. Unfortunately that night the restaurant was packed and I was in a fabulously horrible Molly mood.
In my typical Molly fashion yet again, Clayton asked me to take a walk. Again my response was, “no”. But he was persistent. So, after what felt like hours of nagging, I reluctantly got up from the table and we started to walk down to the beach. As we walked down the boardwalk I started to complain about every aspect of that night. At this point I'm sure he was rethinking his entire plan ;o)
Drumroll please~ He nervously stopped under a light on the boardwalk and pulled a box out of his pocket. He got down on his knee and asked me to marry him and before I could even say yes, he had the ring on my finger. Of course at that moment I started to cry and ran back to the restaurants to show everyone! He made a night that was panning out to be not so enjoyable the best night of my life.
Taking the good with the bad and making it all worth while is what makes our relationship so great. We may work at the happiest place on earth but we rely on each other to make our reality a complete fairy tale.
